Reason I am giving 1 star even though work done was good but I caught them Scamming over the parts. I have the receipts and proof. First they totally denied that they wouldn’t use parts which I would bring and I agreed but when I got the part numbers from their invoice and checked with the dealership it was more than twice the price which Audi dealership was selling for. Being auto shop they already get a discount on parts but selling parts twice the price as the dealership was insane. I brought the quote from Audi dealership with pictures and the guy straight said we are not running charity here and we make money over the parts to run the shop and then he said we charge 30% more than the market price. Once again I said ok and take only 30% even though it’s ridiculous. Total parts from Audi dealership were costing me $457 ( keeping in mind if I had ordered from fcpeuro, it would have been more cheaper) and they charged my more than $1190 for parts. Poor people don’t even know how they are getting scammed because not everyone does their research. Audi dealership was selling 1 part for $259 and these guys charged me $579. That is just one example. Make sure to compare the price of the parts before signing the contract.
Mr Sarwar, Your claims of “scamming over the parts” is disingenuous at best and, I believe, approaching libel. In addition, your stated estimate for parts from the dealer is grossly under what we paid for the parts that were installed on your vehicle. Something you fail to mention is that these parts were not available and two to three days out, which forced us to go to another vendor. Nevertheless, this is not the root of the issue. The issue lies in you wrongly assuming that pricing parts at the parts counter is an installed price. The more fair comparison is to price this same repair at another shop with an out the door price. Perhaps even check with the Audi Service Department and inquire there and see how our prices compare. This was all explained to you by Emad when you came in with your handwritten parts prices on the back of store’s receipt (no quote was presented). Unfortunately when using the excellent resource repairpal.com there is not an exact match estimate for the coolant leak repair that was performed on your 2011 Audi A8. But, using that system we can get a frame of reference for a true COMPLETE job cost on your luxury vehicle (not just parts pricing). When looking up a simple coolant reservoir replacement on repairpal.com the range is $793 to $883 in 20151 zip code and this number does not include shop fees or tax. This is a simple coolant reservoir replacement. One single simple part replaced. Half of what your total bill was for diagnosis and repair of your multifaceted and much more convoluted coolant leak repair that comprised of more than just one single part. It should go without saying, but you also get a much more robust warranty from FAS than from Audi, which in your case is nationwide at participating facilities. Not only that, as you have stated “the work done was good” and when initially presented with the estimate you told Emad you thought the price was fair. I see you also failed to mention in your review that Emad applied a discount of almost $300 on those prices you quoted that we “scammed” you on without you even asking. This was before you came in after the work was complete and “negotiate” a lower price. There is no argument on our part that you can buy the parts for less elsewhere. Perhaps even get better pricing than we can from the dealer as well. However, that only applies if you are installing the parts yourself. It is very similar to ordering a steak in a restaurant vs buying one at your local market, which I’m quite confident your local steak house would’t cook up for you either if you brought it to them.
